“Dancersize” Fundraiser coming to Boston!
Thursday, September 15th, 2011
We’re pretty excited to announce a collaboration with some Boston area DJ’s (who we’ll tell you a little more about later) in an effort to have a good time, and introduce you to a local charity we like, So We Run.
So We Run is a non-profit who’s aim is to provide new and lightly used shoes to those in need. A wardrobe piece we take for granted and probably have dozens of, is often a scarcity in poor areas.
Chances are pretty high that you’ve never heard of Faith & Fortune or So We Run; both are young organizations with a common goal; have a good time while helping others. This is where you come in.
We believe that ordinary people doing ordinary things can in fact make a big difference. It doesn’t need to be the Red Cross or Tom’s Shoes to guarantee that your efforts are seen. In fact, these organizations started with one person and a simple idea; do SOMETHING. Do anything.
“How can I help” you ask? Well, it’s pretty simple. Come join us for a rockin’ good time at Trinity dance club in Boston on October 14th. Easy enough, right? We’ll be collecting shoes at the door, or if you’d rather donate a few bucks, that’s cool too. If you have neither, come anyway!
Visit the invite here,RSVP, spread the word like mad, and finally, get ready to do this:

OK, maybe not exactly this, but you get the idea...

We want you to host a trunk show!
Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010
As we’ve wrapped up our summer vintage show schedule, many things hit our to-do list for the coming holiday season; prepping our spring 2011 line and photo shoot, re-stocking and retiring sold out designs, managing partnerships with various charitable initiatives, and pursuing new and unique ways to grow the Faith & Fortune brand through community involvement. This last task, is where you come in!
Faith & Fortune wants to hit the road, and the destination is your place!
Beginning in the coming months, we’d love you to consider hosting us (by “us” we mean founders Jim + Jay) in your home for an evening of fun. We negotiate a date and time, you set the guest list, and we’ll take care of the rest! Here’s what you and your guests can expect:
-The full range of products available on faithfortune.com, but in the comfort of your home for your to try on
-Exclusive previews of coming designs
-one-off prints that may never be available online
-raffle giveaways to benefit charity
-Food + Drinks (courtesy of F&F)
-Price specials not available to web customers
-guest feedback on potential designs
Additionally, this is a great opportunity for your and your guests to learn more about the vision of Faith & Fortune and get to know us personally (our favorite part!).
Lastly, as the host/hostess for the evening, we want you to be rewarded for your efforts! You will receive a % of total sales for the evening in Faith & Fortune credit (redeemable either immediately or down the road if you like).
If you are interested in hosting F&F for an evening and would like to hear more about it, send an email to hello@faithfortune.com with “trunk show” in the subject line. Let us know your name, location, etc., and we can talk more!
Thanks for considering, and we hope to meet you soon!

Putting our words into action; join us!
Tuesday, August 17th, 2010
Now’s your chance to make a big difference, with just a little time!
Saturday, October 16th from 9am-12pm (that’s only 3 hours!) we’re going to head to the Harvest Food Pantry in Cambridge, MA. Basically we’ll help hand out food, man (or woman) the tables, and help watch some of the kids of the families that come to “shop” there.
I don’t know about you, but I often talk about how important it is to help others, many times forgetting the actual “helping” part of it.
We’d love to meet some of you, help side by side with you, and maybe grab a bite to eat after if you’re up for it (I like to think we’re somewhat interesting).
Shoot us an email at hello@faithfortune.com to be part of this or any other initiatives.
Hope to see you there!

Faith & Fortune Visits the Hope Lodge
Monday, February 22nd, 2010
For those of you who have been following us on our Facebook fan page or on our Twitter page, you know we had been recruiting volunteers for a visit to the Hope Lodge in Boston last week. Our plan was to host a simple ice cream night, just to give their residents a break. Well, they were incredibly thankful for the gesture, and so much so, we were left wondering why we hadn’t done it sooner!
For those of you not familiar with the Hope Lodge, it is a 40 suite, outpatient residence for those who live at least 40 miles away from the hospitals in which they are receiving cancer treatments. It provides an opportunity for some sense of normalcy and comfort while undergoing some very challenging times. They have done an amazing job of building a warm, comfortable, accommodating place.

They even have a theatre!
Faith & Fortune’s hope with volunteer opportunities like this, is to force ourselves and our community to step out of our comfortable daily routine. I’ll admit that it’s easier, and certainly more predictable to go about my daily schedule thinking only of myself. Having said that, those times that I do force myself into opportunities like this I end up realizing how much personal growth I gain. Additionally, it just become easier and easier.

Going forward, we’d love to have you involved in some way. Keep an eye our for different events that we will either be hosting or taking part in and don’t hesitate to drop us a message. Also, if you have a charity that you are regularly working with or would like to see Faith & Fortune get behind, let us know! If we can work it into our plans, we’ll do our best!
